Pair of Empire Candlestick, early 19th Century

About the Item

Pair of candlesticks made of burnished and fire-gilt bronze. The spouts are surrounded by three satyr masks crowned by flames. The pyramidal shaft is decorated with torchbearers in relief. The candlesticks stand above three spheres on a tripod base. The candle holders were formerly electrified and used as a base for modern lamps. Traces of this are visible.
