Pair of Exquisite Petite Empire Candlesticks
About the Item
An exquisite pair of early nineteenth century small candlesticks from France, made of gilt bronze on small, square alabaster bases. These candlesticks feature neoclassical columns swagged in flower garlands and ribbons, surmounted by two intricately fluted classical urns.
Typical of the Empire period, they are especially elegant due to their small size and lovely patina. A perfect addition to any intimate table setting.
Tiny chips to the edge of the alabaster bases, as well as some yellowing commensurate with age. Tiny bits of green oxidation to the bronze.
