Pair of French Empire Style Gilt Bronze Candlesticks

About the Item

A fine pair of French Empire gilt bronze candlesticks. With intricate raised decoration in the form of geometric and foliate patterns. The middle of each candlestick is fluted and has a warm brown patina. The bobeches are removable and the candlesticks themselves are assembled on a threaded rod in the traditional manner. Simply a wonderful pair of French Empire style candlesticks! Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Condition Details: Both candlesticks have a bit of discoloration to the exterior of the candle cup and to the tops of the bobeches. Each has a slight lean. Otherwise, there are some light bends, some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches here & there, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
