Pair of French 19th Century Charles X Period Bronze and Ormolu Candlesticks

About the Item

A fine and high quality pair of French 19th century Charles X period patinated bronze and ormolu candlesticks. Each candlestick is raised by a triangular patinated bronze base with cut corners and concave sides, with an elegant wrap around mottled foliate ormolu band. Above is a beautiful and richly chased scrolled ormolu movement in a striking satin and burnished finish, leading up to the tapered patinated bronze central column. The ormolu candle cup displays a wonderful and most charming scrolled foliate design. All original gilt throughout.
