About the Item
An exquisite true pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. ormolu candlesticks. Each candlestick is raised by an elegant pierced circular base with four scrolled acanthus leaf supports. At the center are charming and wonderfully detailed cherubs with curly hair draped in fine flowing fabrics and leaning on crests shaped supports. Above are richly chased pierced foliate bobeches and exceptional floral candle cups in a rich satin and burnished finish. All original gilt throughout.
