About the Item

Pair of French Restoration period cast brass candlesticks. The candle shaft is threaded to the domed circular base, and shallow Classical foliate design elements are visible at the candle cup, upper and lower candlestick shaft, as well as on the circular base. The majority of the original silverplate has worn off but traces are still visible in the recesses of the foliate design. France, circa 1815-30.
