Pair of Swedish Gustavian Pewter Candlesticks, Johan Fredrik Gellerstedt, 1833
An elegant pair of late Gustavian pewter candlesticks, crafted in Härnösand, Sweden, by the pewter master Johan Fredrik Gellerstedt (1798–1818/36). Marked C4 for the year 1833, they exemplify the refined neoclassical taste of the period.
The candlesticks are decorated with a delicate beaded border, a fluted and tapering column, and a finely moulded base, creating a harmonious silhouette characteristic of Swedish neoclassicism. Preserved in very good antique condition with only minor wear consistent with age, they represent both craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
