About the Item

Pair of turned solid brass candlesticks, of Italian manufacture, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. The two pieces are distinguished by a turned frame with alternating profiles and a trefoil base with lion's paw feet. The shaft is lathe-carved with elegance and regularity, while the flatter and simpler base provides excellent stability. Total height: 39 cmMaximum base width: 15.5 cmThe original tip has been modified over time to allow for the insertion of electrical installations, as per the traces visible on the top. Apart from this transformation, the candlesticks are in good state of preservation, with a patina consistent with age and use.
