About the Item
Elegant and sculptural set of three vintage candleholders, made in the 1970s in Sulitjelma, Norway—an area rich in mining history. Each holder is crafted with bronze bands and carved natural stone. The stone has beautifully varied, organic surface patterns created by inclusions and formations inherent to the stone, which contains copper, iron, and zinc with traces of gold and silver. Polished bronze rings at the top and bottom edges offer a refined contrast to the mineral-rich textures. Designed to hold tea lights, the trio features graduated heights creating a striking stepped silhouette that feels both industrial and elemental. The candleholders maintain their original felt furniture protection and the original maker’s label, “Sulitjelma Stein og Metall,”. An uncommon and iconic example of Norwegian Modernism made by Saulo for Sulitjelma Stein Og Metall.
The smallest votive has a break in the low bronze band. Glass display base not included.
