Sculptural Ribbon Silver Tea light Holders – Modern Elegance by Ane Christensen
About the Item
A captivating pair of contemporary sterling silver tealight holders from Ane Christensen’s celebrated Ribbon Series, hallmarked in London in 2005. These sculptural pieces exemplify Christensen’s distinctive blend of elegance and innovation, transforming flat silver into fluid, ribbon-like forms that dance across the surface. Each holder is expertly hand-formed, with the silver curving in dynamic loops that play with light and shadow, offering a visually striking centrepiece whether lit or unlit.
Ane Christensen is known for her avant-garde approach to silversmithing, often pushing the boundaries between function and form. These tealight holders perfectly reflect her philosophy—practical objects that double as minimalist art sculptures. Ideal for modern interiors or collectors of British contemporary silver, they add a bold, graceful touch to any setting.
Fully hallmarked by the London Assay Office, this pair not only showcases exceptional craftsmanship but also represents a unique voice in 21st-century design.
Whether placed on a dining table, mantelpiece, or console, these Ribbon Series tealight holders are certain to spark conversation and admiration.
Each candle holder measures 3"(7.5cm) tall, by 12"(30cm) wide, by 6"(15.5cm) deep, and the pair together weigh 22.53 troy ounces.
Ane Christensen trained at the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, as well as with Howard Fenn and Alfred Pain in London, obtaining her MA at the Royal College of Art in 1999.
Her pieces can be found in many public collections, including: Aberdeen Art gallery, Liverpool Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Birmingham Museum, Crafts Council Collection, Goldsmith's Company Collection, Fitzwilliam Museum, Museum of Decorative Arts Copenhagen, and the Koldinghus Museum in Denmark.
