A finely crafted pair of late 19th-century silver plated candlesticks by William Tonks & Sons, renowned Birmingham makers known for their high-quality architectural metalwork and decorative objects.
Each candlestick features a floral decorated sconce above a square drip tray, leading down to a striking modular column with geometric stacked cube design. The stepped plinth base is finished with an engraved border and rests on four ornate paw feet, combining structural elegance with Victorian decorative detailing.
William Tonks & Sons supplied major retailers and exhibited at international expositions, and their works remain highly sought after for their craftsmanship, distinct designs, and enduring quality. Pieces marked WT&S are recognised for their authenticity and collector value.
