About the Item
The Holmström candlesticks are a beautiful addition to any holiday décor, particularly during the Swedish tradition of Lucia. Made by Lars Holmström in Arvika, these candlesticks are made of brass with rounded stems, designed to fit small candles.
Holmström is known for his work on fixtures and sacred vessels for churches, as well as gates and railings for important buildings. In 1925, he participated in the Paris exhibition, where his candlesticks and chandeliers were well-received and described as masterful works of art.
These candlesticks are in good vintage condition, with a lovely patina that adds to their charm.

Lars August Holmström was born in 1894 in Gävleborg County and died in Båstad. He was a Swedish mid-century art smith. Holmström participated in the Paris Exhibition and hit here with candlesticks and chandeliers and also with silver work. He is mentioned in French art magazines, where his work is referred to as a masterpiece of art.
