About the Item
Provenance: A private Swiss collection
The Schwarzburg Werkstätten Für Porzellankunst (the Schwarzburg Porcelain works) was founded in 1909 by Max Adolf Pfeiffer, who after developing the company went on to become director at Meisen until his dismissal by the Nazis in 1934. The Schwarzburg Werkstätten Für Porzellankunst was famous for its collaborations with leading Weimar artists. Despite its success, the company was forced to close in 1930 as a result of the Great Depression.
