Pair of Rococo Style German Meissen Porcelain Candelabras

About the Item

Pair of Rococo style German Meissen Porcelain candelabras German, circa 1860 Measures: Height 37cm, width 26cm, depth 15cm Rococo-style detailing, including figures representing Ganymede and Hebe, animals, urns, and floral motifs, abound in this wonderful, flamboyant pair of Meissen Porcelain candelabra. Each candelabrum has two lights, which issue from scrolling porcelain branches decorated around their outside with flowers and grapes, as if attached to a vine. The finial of each candelabrum also features more of these floral and grape motifs. The central stem is formed as an acanthus trunk, mounted with a gilded eagle, under which stands a seminude Classical figure. The twin candle branches of each can be detached, allowing each candelabrum to serve as a single, delicate candleholder.
