19th Century Travel Clock with Repetition, Carriage Clock, Pendule de Voyage

Travel clock with repetition France Brass 19th century Dimensions: H x W x D: 11 x 7,5 x 4,5 cm Description: Small travel clock, so-called officer's clock, carriage clock or pendulette de voyage. Front glazed brass case. Dial with Roman hours. Winding hole in the area of 2 o'clock. If we open the back door, we can see a clean verge movement with the two tone springs. Quarter hour strike on call. Condition: Unpolished brass case with light wear and patina. The movement has been cleaned and runs good. Similar items can be found in the literature: Charles Allix - Carriage Clocks / their history and development.

The case is made of ebonised wood with brass thread inlays. On the front we see behind glass the white dial with black roman numerals and gilded bezel.
