About the Item

A beautiful French Napoleon III ormolu carriage clock, with all five panels mounted in red marble. The marble panels overlaid with original gilt bronze neoclassical figures and acanthus. The circular dial of convex white enamel bordered by a Fine bezel. The dial with Roman hour numerals and Arabic minutes at the quarters. The hands in fine gilt bronze. The movement of eight day duration with fine platform escapement, is signed on the front plate Ed Chartier, Paris, and numbered 12775.
