About the Item

Ornate French Gilded Repeating Carriage Clock Ornate French gilded carriage clock housed in a decorative case with curved side panels. Barley twist columns with Corinthian capitals and decorative moulding to the top and bottom of the case ion all four sides of the case. Bevelled glass panels and ornate hinged carrying handle with barley twist decoration. Enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands. Eight day French movement with silvered platform escapement striking the hours and the halves on a coiled gong with repeat facility. C.1880
