18th Century Walnut Brass Dial Grandfather Clock
About the Item
18th century walnut brass dial grandfather clock, the bonnet has a beautiful broken arch swan neck pediment with brass rosettes , reeded keystone and inlaid urn finial. The brass dial with round plaque reading "James Park , Kilmalcolm'' ( according to Brian Loomes reference book, this Scottish clock maker worked from 1760-1802) , the silver plated chapter ring is surrounded by applied brass spandrels, the reticulated steel hands are original , dial is flanked by turned wood columns. The case door has a scalloped shaped top edge with reeded quarter columns on each side. The clock rests on bracket feet. This is an 8 day bell strike ( on the hour ) movement in running condition.
