George III Painted Dial Grandfather Clock

About the Item

George III painted dial grandfather clock, the bonnet has a swan neck broken arch pediment with brass ball finial and rosettes, reeded and tapered keystone above turned and reeded columns with brass capitals; the tombstone arched painted dial features birds and flowers with working moon dial in the crest, reticulated brass hands. The main body has an arched top door flanked by reeded quarter columns with brass capitals, etched escutcheon with ribbon urn features. The lower case has a crotch mahogany panel surrounded by a small molding and mahogany cross banding; entirety rests on original bracket feet; this late 18th century clock has excellent color, patina, and proportions and is in running condition.
