About the Item
A spectacular late 19th century longcase Grandfather clock with an eight day movement and chiming on nine brass tubes. The very elaborate designed face with Arabic Numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial in the center, a small switch to the left of the number nine allows you to choose between "Strike and Silent", the arch has two other subsidiary dials, "Chime/Silent" and "Whittington/Westminster", with three brass weights and a pendulum.

He was a skilled maker who was influenced by both earlier decorative trends and the ingenious clocks originally designed by Nicolas Grollier De Servierè that were illustrated in DeServierè’s catalog .
