Mid 19th Century English Grandfather Clock with Painted Round Dial
About the Item
Antique English grandfather clock with painted dial in mahogany case
The case stands on small round feet and has a wide lower section, above which is a narrower section with a door and flanking half-columns, and a wide top section.
The white painted round dial with black Roman hour numerals has a small subdial for the seconds. Black hands ensure that the time is easy to read.
Below the winding holes, there is the clockmaker's signature.
The top is also flanked by columns on the outside, which support the upper round arch with a ball finial.
Condition:
Wonderful, restored condition. The movement has been completely disassembled, cleaned, and overhauled. The case has been refurbished and polished with shellac.
