About the Item
The object shown in the image is a stand or column clock. This type of clock is designed to be placed on the floor, serving as a piece of furniture. The model shown has a metal frame, probably wrought iron, with a circular base and a rod supporting the dial.
The dial is round and appears to be made of a material other than metal, such as ceramic or resin, decorated with a floral bas-relief. Hours are indicated by Roman numerals. Below the dial hangs a pendulum that extends along the stem. Judging by the design, which combines floral elements and an iron frame, the clock could fit into a decor style that harks back to vintage or classic modern.
There are similar models of free-standing clocks, such as Howard Miller's "Vercelli" model, which feature a wrought iron frame and a large dial.
