Pennsylvania Cherry Tall Case Clock, Jedediah Weiss, Bethlehem

About the Item

An exceptional Federal cherry tall case clock with a brass eight day works signed Jedediah Weiss Bethlehem, with beautiful inlay including a contrasting fan carving above the waist door, carved urn finials and broken pediment bonnet crest with contrasting pinwheel rosettes and nicely turned delicate corner columns, a tombstone metal hand painted dial with moon phase, decorative gilt shell spandrels, an Arabic dial with painted moth, and with a tiger maple panel base. Includes pendulum, two weights, locking key, winding key and service records in the bonnet. Very good working condition, with minor inlay losses, edge and corner losses, and light wear commensurate with age and use. A fine Pennsylvania tall clock! Dimensions: 103 in H x 23 in W x 12 in D.
