About the Item

Very fine quality and unusual Antique (19th century) French Louis XVI style garniture including mantel clock and pair of two-light candelabra neoclassical style, finely crafted from onyx stone with gilt bronze mounts, and distinguished by Limoge enamel cartouches on each element, including its lovely pendulum. Movement by the celebrated Paris clock maker, Henri-Eugène-Adrien Farcot (1830-1896). With original pendulum and striking bell (not shown). Movement with the impressed mark of the maker, Farco et Cie, depicting ship anchor with Fot (for Farcot) and Bte (for brevete or patent in English).
