About the Item
Imposing 19th century French Napoleon III Gilt Bronze striking Mantel clock. Flanked by two sitting cherubs and another two cherubs on top, this is another example of a fine French mantel clock.
This particular clock was crafted by famed French bronze maker Henri Picard (fl. 1831-1864), in collaboration with Monbro Fils Aine.
The circular enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes inscribed MONBRO FILS AINE A Paris, also inscribed JACQUIER Her.
The bronze stamped: H. Picard.
