19th Century Sèvres Style Ormolu and Cobalt-Blue Painted Porcelain Clockset
About the Item
A magnificent Sèvres style gilt bronze and cobalt-blue 'Jeweled' painted porcelain clockset.
The central clock case surmounted by a ruby and pearl 'jeweled' coupe flanked by bracket handles; the vasi-form four-light candelabra with similar jewels and molded turquoise swags, the upright loop handles with ram's head terminals, painted with putti either fishing or riding a goat, the reverse with landscapes.
Date: circa 1890
Origin: French
Signature: the clock face signed WM WRAY, the movement stamped 31962, GV and 41
