Aristede De Ranieri Signed Art Nouveau Sculptural Mantel or Table Clock

About the Item

Thia antique mantel or table clock was made by the well known Italian born sculptor Archimede de Ranieri, who did much of his work in France and made this in approximately 1900 in the period Art Nouveau style. The sculptural clock case is composed of terracotta and features a woman leaning on the clock which is draped in a flowing stylized cloth with a foliage motif. The woman is patinated in a deep muted green which flows into a blue and turquoise of the drapery of the case. The case is clearly signed "A de Ranieri" in an impressed script on the back of the case.
