A highly decorative small black chinoiserie bracket clock, circa 1920, the case profusely decorated in relief with maidens, floral, bird and garden scenes, the swept top with four brass finials and a brass loop handle, on brass ogee feet. The gold dial with Roman numerals is marked Mappin & Webb, London and Paris. The French brass movement has been serviced by our qualified Horologist. Condition: The case has been cleaned and waxed and shows minor wear commensurate with age. Mappin & Webb is a jewelry company headquartered in London. They trace their origins back to a silver workshop founded in Sheffield in 1775 by Jonathan Mappin. It now has retail stores in the UK and has held Royal Warrants to British monarchs since 1897.
