Early 19th Century French Sienna Marble Mantle Clock

About the Item

An exceptional quality early 19th century Sienna marble and ormolu mantle clock, the sienna marble case surmounted by an urn, raised on ormolu bun feet and a rectangular plinth steeped base with foliate cast border, the gilt dial is surrounded by a fine cast bronze ormolu bezel of stiff leaf and dart design and the hour chapters are Roman Numerals. The 8 day silk suspension movement strikes the hours and halves using the countwheel system. Circa 1820 French The movement has been fully overhauled and tested by our clockmaker. Wear consistent with age and use. Fully Working. Key Supplied.
