English Burl Wood Musical Mantel Clock C 1880, Westminster & Whitington Chimes

About the Item

An English Burl Wood Musical Mantel Clock, circa 1880 in the Georgian Style - This imposing clock with break arch case profusely decorated with floral inlay, surmounted by an arched pediment and with five brass finials, glass break arch panels to the sides and a decoratively carve rear door, of brass ogee feet. The brass dial with decorative floral spandrels, silver chapter ring with Roman numerals for the hours and an outer minute dial, surmounted by twin subsidiary dials for stike/silent and Whitington/Westminster chime selcection. The substantial twin fusee English brass movement sounding Whitington Chimes on eight bells and Westminster chimes on a series of gongs. The clock movement has been serviced by our qualified Horologist and both the movement and the case present in beautiful condition.
