French Charles X period fire gilt bronze mantel clock, c. 1820-30

About the Item

Charles X period fire gilt bronze mantel clock with a Classical figure of Paris holding an apple & leaning on a tree stump. The stump is fitted with a Paris style, two train, hour striking mechanism clock with porcelain face. The figure is mounted on a base of painted pear wood with gilt molding and cast brass ball feet. Clockworks have been restored and the clock comes with winding key. The base is a replacement and the gilding has been restored in some areas. France, circa 1820-30.
