About the Item

French Style Mystery Gravity Driven Gilt Incline Rolling Clock - No Spring or Battery This very unusual clock is never wound with a key, but does feature a totally mechanical movement. The Rolling Clock receives its power from a counterweight inside the heavy brass case. The case slowly rolls down a delicately carved wooden plane, yet keeps the hand-painted porcelain dial upright all the time. At the end of the running period, simply replace the clock at the top of the plane, and it continues to run, without missing a beat. This nice clock has 7 jeweled movement. And the hand carved base is made of rose wood. Dimension: Movement: 5" in diameter x 4" deep; Base: 4-1/2" high x 21-1/4" wide x 4-5/8" deep. You will never need to wind this clock and it's totally mechanical. You will find the exactly the same clock displayed in the Palace Museum of Forbidden City in Beijing.
