French Ormolu Lyre Mantel Clock
About the Item
French ormolu Lyre clock standing on a stepped rectangular base with acanthus leaf decoration and floral swags resting on four turned and chased toupe feet.
Chased garland gilt bezel surrounding a fine enamel dial with Roman numerals and a gilded starburst centre.
The lyre with foliate decoration surmounted by the bust of a man.
Eight day movement of fine quality with silk suspension and marked S.S. and numbered 1820, circa 1840.
