A Harding and Bazeley Limited Edition Spherical Weight Clock

About the Item

This is a novelty clock from the later half of the 20th century, powered by the weight of its twenty four steel ball bearings as they descend around the carousel wheel and are deposited in the green base trough in the base of the case. They can however be spring driven – wound by the spokes of the main wheel – and will run for approx 9 days. The movement backplate is signed Sinclair Harding & Co. and is mounted with a Swiss 11 jewel lever platform escapement, protected by an acrylic box. With a roman chapter ring and plain centre carrying the name plaque. The pillared frame supports a curved track to hold the heavy polished spheres that propel a six spoked wheel below powering the movement. An edition of 1000 of these clocks were made this example is numbered 779 of 1000. Established in 1967, Sinclair Harding honours the historical tradition of fine English clockmaking. With its range of beautiful hand-crafted clocks, this unique company embraces the horological industry’s ideals for precision, quality and perfection. This clock comes with our two year guarantee.
