Large Clock Portico Empire And Gilded Bronze Mercury Gilt

About the Item

Large, very imposing portico clock, from the Charles chiselled with acanthus leaves, geometric shapes, gadroons and water leaves as well as on the flat surfaces of the garlands and rosettes. Large bronze dial underlined by a thick outline of acanthus leaves, the space between the columns is occupied by a precision balance wheel known as the Berthoud whose end ends in a steel point acting as a stop in a guide resting on the terrace. Imposing base decorated with wreaths of flowers accompanied by laurels. Original mechanism without modification, , hour and half-hour strike on old bell.47x24x14 cm
