Late Empire Period Clock of Chronos Carrying Away Time
About the Item
A fine model of Chronos carrying off time. The superbly modelled and cast figure of Chronos with scythe in one hand and carrying the clock under his arm. Set on a fine marble base with fine winged paw feet in original ormolu and below the clock a truncated pyramid also in ormolu with pseudo hieroglyphics cast into it. 8 day bell striking movement with lever escapement.
