Mantel Clock in Malachite, 19th Century

About the Item

This elegant mantel clock features a rectangular case entirely clad in deep green malachite. Fire-gilded bronze decorations in the form of floral festoons and lyres adorn the case. The clock is crowned by a fully sculpted figure of a young woman playing a lyre, with another stringed instrument on the side. It stands on chiseled ball feet made of fire-gilded bronze, and the dial displays Roman numerals.
