Small regency bracket clock. Mahogany chamfered top case surmounted by a brass pineapple finial with brass inlay, standing on a raised plinth with brass line stringing and resting on brass ball feet. Painted dial with Roman numerals signed ‘George Grove, London’. Eight day single Fusee movement with pendulum stop, C.1820 Brain Loomes informative book ‘Watchmakers and clockmakers of the world’ lists George Grove as working in London early nineteenth century.
