This impressive example of an early 20th century French Rococo palace size clock set comes from the prestigious E. Colin & Cie of Paris foundry. The sculpted ensemble is detailed with crisp elaborate scrolling accented with a full figure cupid with quiver atop the clock. The clock & candelabras are decorated in a brilliant gold doré' finish. The set was commissioned by Tiffany & Co. & featured in the 1900, Paris Exposition. The clock has Roman numerals & bears "Tiffany & Co." on its stunning white enamel face. French eight day movement with outside countwheel and anchor escapement striking the hours and halves on a silvered bell marked for Samuel Marti. C.1880 The clock was retailed by Le Comptoir General a prestigious decorative and fine art store in France.
