About the Item

Walnut Westminster Chiming Mantel Clock Finely figured bell top walnut case standing on a stepped moulded plinth with block feet. Brass silk lined sound frets to the sides and rear door, surmounted by a decorative carrying handle. Hinged front door opening to the brass dial with finely matted centre, raised silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel hands. Gilded corner spandrels and engraved silvered boss to the arch signed ‘Tempus Fugit’. Eight day quarter Westminster chiming movement with platform escapement, chiming on coiled gong rods with strike / silent facility. C.1960

Brass bezel opening to the silvered dial with Roman numerals, original ‘blued’ steel hands signed Webster, Queen Victoria Street, London.
