Rococo Style Miniature Longcase Clock, Mahogany Case, circa 1870

About the Item

An attractive Rococo style miniature longcase clock, circa 1870. The waisted polished mahogany case adorned with decorative brass mounts. The quality ceramic segmented dial with Roman numerals and minute marks, no chips or cracks, with a plain stepped brass bezel. Fitted with an adjustable faux compensating pendulum. The movement stamped with the name 'J Le Cheminant Craven Road'. John Le Cheminant, clockmaker/watchmaker, active 1853-1875. This clock has been subject to a comprehensive overhaul including re-polishing the case, cleaning all bright work and servicing of the movement. It is in excellent overall condition.
