Beautiful Empire clock in ormolu and patinated bronze

About the Item

Represents Hercules leaning on a tree trunk with his mace and three apples in the left hand from the Garden of the Hesperides. Octagonal base on lion claw feet. Movement signed on the dial "Le Roy & Fils. Watchmaker to the King in Paris" Very good ormolu condition. France. Early 19th century. Model historically attributed to Claude Galle (1759-1815) Published in "Vergoldete bronzen". Page399
