About the Item

Refined French Empire-style portico clock, dating from the early 1800s, in black and white marble, richly adorned with finely chiseled gilt bronze. The enameled dial with Roman numerals is signed, set within a pediment-like architectural structure supported by two fluted columns with Corinthian capitals. The pendulum, shaped like a radiant sun, swings between the columns, a classic symbol of the Empire period.
