iconic 1. edition chopard happy diamonds for men

About the Item

this design was the biggest success in the history of chopard. designer ronald kurowski was inspired by water droplets sparkling in the sunshine at a waterfall and decided to design a mens watch with moving diamonds, that also flash in the sun. it was never meant for regular production as it was a one-of-a-kind entry into the annual 'Golden Rose of Baden Baden' - the highest price a jewels design could win at that time. the happy diamonds watch won easy, but there have been no plans for a commercial production. jewelers started ordering the nameless watch in large numbers and so chopard finally gave the watch the name happy diamonds and started the production. this 18k white gold watch is one of the 1. edition with moving 30 diamonds on an onyx back. powered by a hand wound mechanical caliber on a white gold bracelet with some repairs. the bracelet can be changed to a strap.
