Luxor Midcentury Gilt Desk Clock and Weather Compendium
About the Item
A beautifully designed midcentury gilt desk clock and weather compendium by Luxor. The compendium has an electro-mechanical movement powered by an AA battery. The hexagonal case rotates and tilts on a raised circular plinth, with sides alternatively inset with deep blue faux leather and plates for Thermometer, Hygrometer and Barometer, the top inset with a large silvered Arabic dial signed ‘Luxor’ and gilt dauphine hands.
This is a very stylish vintage desk clock and weather compendium that is far more elegant than any weather app could be. In addition to telling time, this clock also includes instruments for measuring the temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure.
The midcentury Luxor gilt desk clock and weather compendium is a highly collectible vintage timepiece that is sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. It is a beautiful and functional piece of midcentury design that would make a stylish addition to any home or office.
The clock is in fantastic and original condition with a bright and clean colour to the gilding. There are very minor marks and light surface scratches expected from a clock of this age. The dials are all clean and well defined. There is a very fine and short hairline crack to the centre of the barometer glass, however this is very fine and does not detract from the appearance of the clock.
The movement has been cleaned and serviced and is running well and keeping good time. We offer a one year guarantee with all our clocks and watches.
