About the Item

Il trittico in bronzo è costituito da un orologio centrale e da due candelabri laterali. Tutti e tre gli elementi hanno un basamento simile: sopra una base quadrata è poggiato un plinto in marmo Rouge Griotte, attorno al quale vi è una corona d'alloro in bronzo, finemente cesellata a bulino. L'orologio presenta la figura in bronzo di un putto inginocchiato sulla gamba sinistra, mentre la destra è avanzata e parzialmente coperta da un panneggio che nasconde anche l'inguine. La testa è chinata in un atteggiamento di sforzo, mentre entrambe le braccia sono sollevate a sostenere la cassa dell'orologio. Questa, dorata e decorata a cesello e bulino con una corda a perline che riprende la decorazione sul plinto marmoreo, è ornata sulla sommità da un fiocco. Sulla mostra le ore sono segnate con i numeri romani, mentre i minuti, scanditi di cinque in cinque, sono segnati con i numeri arabi; anche le lancette in bronzo sono finemente ornate con motivi fitomorfi. Sul quadrante è presente la firma dell'orologiaio “Etiennene Lenoir A Paris”. I due candelabri raffigurano anch'essi due putti in bronzo con ali da farfalla, speculare l'uno all'altro: una gamba è sollevata e il peso del corpo è spostato in avanti, nello slancio di una corsa, il volto è rivolto verso l'alto in un'espressione tra lo stupore e il divertito. Le braccia sono aperte e sorreggono due reggi-candele che rappresentano delle torce con il fuoco acceso, in bronzo dorato; anche il panneggio che avvolge i fianchi delle due figure è in bronzo dorato. Prodotto nel suo stato originale. L'oggetto non ha difetti e non è stato restaurato.
