About the Item

18th century Georgian wall clock by Robert Salmon circa 1790. Rare Georgian wall clock by Robert Salmon, who is recorded working a number 49, strand, london from 1790-1794. 12" silvered brass dial complete with original ornate pierced steel hands.  Face has been engraved robert salmon, strand and london below the centre.  Verge escapement sits in an oak saltbox shaped case. Clock face encased with a turned mahogany surround and heavy concave brass bevel.  Complete with is original integral lock. Some expected fading and rubbing to silvering. Minor surface marks to woodwork.  We recommend as with all time pieces after transportation that it is professionally checked for accurate time keeping.
