A fine Willard’s Patent lyre form wall clock in carved mahogany case by Aaron Willard (1757-1844) with carved foliate finial, 7 inch Roman numeral hand painted dial, original reverse painted glass throat panel featuring two battling tall ships, Willard’s Patent, and an eagle, with mahogany scroll carved surround, which when removed reveals the 8-day brass movement, including pendulum and weight. The clock is in good working order, including key, with some cracks visible in the glass throat panel, some craquelure and minor paint loss on the dial, small crack repairs, minor paint restorations, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use.
