Antique French Clock Dial Face Wall Clock, Fully Working
About the Item
A charming antique French comptoise clock dial, beautifully naïve repoussé work surround with painted decoration, porcelain enamel dial with brass hands. Originally with a large weight driven movement, this was substantially missing. Our clockmaker has skillfully fitted a modern battery quartz movement for reliable timekeeping and convenience while keeping the beautiful original hands, hand washer and winding shafts for an authentic look. Measure: 16 1/2" high.
Found by our buyer in a French farm it is in lovely as found condition with wear, patination and some slight damage. The repoussé work surround has some cracking and paint loss. A hanging loop is fitted to the rear. Porcelain dial has some slight marks.
