Antique French Gilt Bronze Cartel Wall Clock

About the Item

A beautiful Louis XVI style classical cartel wall clock, superbly made in gilded bronze. Of elegant design, with draped laurel swags, rams heads and a glazed aperture below the dial to allow the bronze sunburst pendulum to be seen gently swinging. The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with delicate floral swags between the numerals and original finely fretted gilt brass hands. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock, please ask and we will send you a link. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration. Dial is also in good condition with some slight fading or rubbing. Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
